**Role summary:**
As a Small Business (SMB) Expert Representative, you will play a crucial role in engaging customers understanding their needs and effectively communicating the value of our products. You will interact with customers through email, phone, and Microsoft Teams video meetings. Your ability to demonstrate professionalism, build rapport, overcome objections, and close deals through written and verbal communication will be key to driving customer loyalty and revenue growth. An important aspect of this role is to be customer centric and growth-oriented, aiming to help our customers grow their business with Staples.
**What you’ll be doing:**
+ Effectively manage phone, email, and meeting workflow
+ Engage and initiate conversations with customers via email and phone
+ Use your expertise in our products and passion for helping customers solve their problems to invite customers to explore our product categories and build customers' confidence to buy from Staples
+ Maintain professionalism during all interactions, building trust and rapport with your customers to create a differentiated buying experience
+ Professionally and helpfully route users to the appropriate support or sales associate when appropriate. This ensures the customer will get the most appropriate support for their needs.
+ Meet or exceed all targets for revenue, opportunity generation, close rate, customer satisfaction, Quality Assurance, and more

+ SMB Expert representatives are Staples' experts for our small to medium size accounts
+ As their experts, we respect and value their businesses and aim to help them find the best solutions for their growth and thriving in Staples portfolio
+ The partnership we offer them helps customers get answers to their questions, resolve issues, understand what we offer, and feel confident in their business relationship with Staples and with our team.
+ This can lead to higher customer satisfaction and conversions
+ Proactive by nature
**What’s needed-** Basic Qualifications:
+ Higher Secondary or Vocational Education
+ 1+ years of experience in a customer-focused, customer service, or sales role
+ Strong organization and time management skills; able to juggle multiple priorities and deliver on objectives in a timely fashion
+ Effective communications skills, comes across positively and professionally over email and verbally
+ Experience using a computer, Excel, and Outlook
+ Previous experience using Salesforce or a comparable sales tool
+ Exceptional typing ability (60 wpm)
+ Simultaneously navigate multiple software applications and technologies
+ Thrive in a sales environment, leveraging your personality to confidently promote product solutions, place orders on behalf of customers, and/or influence customers to buy from Staples
