Remote Pharmacist
Job Title: Pharmacist

Job Description

The main function of a pharmacist is to perform final Prior Authorization (PA) reviews. The pharmacist must comply with state and federal drug laws as regulated by the state board of pharmacy, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This includes monitoring nursing unit inspections, maintaining records for controlled substances, removing outdated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory, and supervising the work results of support personnel. The pharmacist is also responsible for maintaining current registration, studying existing and new legislation, anticipating legislation, and advising management on necessary actions.

ResponsibilitiesPerform final Prior Authorization (PA) reviews.Monitor nursing unit inspections.Maintain records for controlled substances.Remove outdated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory.Supervise the work results of support personnel.Maintain current registration with the State Board of Pharmacy.Study existing and new legislation and anticipate future legislation.Advise management on needed actions to comply with legislation.Essential SkillsDoctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science Pharmacy degree.Current pharmacist license in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy in the state of residence.Experience with Medication Therapy Management (MTM).Prior Authorization expertise.Proficiency in data entry.Work Environment

This position is 100% remote, requiring a dedicated workspace at home. Work hours are Monday through Friday with rotating weekends.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00
