The Remote Profee Surgical Coding Auditor isresponsible for performing internal QA to supportour coding managers and Amergis coders as part of our monthly and quarterlyquality auditing processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Reviews charts for accurate and timely coding that is supported by medical record documentation and is in accordance with facility and Official Coding Guidelines Responds to questions from assigned both Amergis and Client’s coding staff Communicates effectively and timely with Client contacts Communicates any and all concerns regarding client and/or staff to Remote Operations Manager or Assistant Director of HIM Services Maintains and adheres to HIPAA privacy and security standards Identifies coding risks/problems proactively and make appropriate recommendations Addresses any coding discrepancies based on review process Performs preliminary and routine audits on coding staff Provides education to coders based on findings Responds to questions from coding staff, including applicable references, as appropriate Reviews charts for accurate and timely coding that is supported by medical record documentation and is in accordance with facility and Official Coding Guidelines Demonstrates effective time management skills by completing assignments within time constraints, budget, and calendar schedules Communicates professionally and effectively with coding staff, clients, and other Amergis staff Completes work assignments independently Keeps current with new laws, regulations, and guidelines related to coding Seeks guidance to complete any assigned task requiring further clarification Performs other duties as assigned/necessary Benefits At Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits: Competitive pay & weekly paychecks Health, dental, vision, and life insurance 401(k) savings plan Awards and recognition programs *Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.
