Job Description A client has made the decision to purchase VCF (VMware Cloud Foundation) and to migrate their NetApp clusters to VSAN. A large majority of that deployment is done, and they are upgrading from VMWare 7 to VMWare 8. As the end of life for VMware 7 is April 25th, they are working on a tight timeline. They are looking for a truly senior-level VMWare architect and engineer that understands VSAN as well as back-end storage, any dependencies with NetApp or HPE secondary software. They need this individual to have experience with large-scale upgrades as well as experience specifically upgrading from VMWare 7 to 8 and VMware 8 to 9. They have about a 2000 VM environment. This person will be coordinating with a global team with main stakeholders that span the US, Europe and India. Once they understand the upgrades, they will be driving the upgrades for the India teams. They will be reporting to a manager who runs compute storage, all VSAN, virtualization, storage, back up, all remote offices data centers and all around Active Directory, Windows and servers. Once the upgrade is done, this person needs to be able to educate and lead documentation and training. Then they'd want to start planning for their upgrade to VMware 9.   This person needs to be extremely flexible with hours, coordinating between India based teams as well as US Pacific teams and after hours work. This person can be 100% remote as long as they can accomodate early US mornings with the India teams and late US hours with the Pacific teams.
