ASRC Federal is seeking a strong Renewable Engineer to help support a USDA contract focusing on loans and grants for rural development. The ideal candidate must have the technical experience in the design, development or construction of large-scale renewables energy projects including solar, wind, biomass and/or battery energy storage systems.  The engineer will review technical documents related to each loan application to determine the technical feasibility of proposed renewable energy projects.

Location: Remote (ability to travel if necessary)

Clearance:  Must be able to pass a government issued background check

Responsibilities:

 Performs the technical due diligence of proposed renewable energy systems that include the review of design specifications, feasibility studies, site-specific engineering analysis, and interconnection requirements for utility scale facilities. Review plant design documents including single line diagrams and site layout drawings, grid impact and reliability studies, interconnection agreements, power purchase agreements, procurement and construction contracts, and the commissioning of the projects. Review of the engineering and power cost study (or the independent engineering report) Review of the applicable contract and agreements Prepare engineering memos that recommend the loan from technical point of view May interface with applicants to obtain necessary information
