Position summary: Manage the day-to-day implementation of contracts related to the operation and maintenance of Black Hills Energy's renewable energy fleet which included 88.2MW of Vestas turbines and 112.5MW of GE turbines spread across 4 wind farms. This position will be responsible for the establishment of an effective operations and maintenance program for balance of plant equipment, oversight of safety programs, ensuring that the processes, systems, manuals, and tools are implemented and adhered to. Additionally, this position will have the responsibility to create, track, and report on budgets. Pay Range:$110,900 - $183,100 / Grade 19 (This posting includes the full pay range for this position. Pay is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.) Essential Functions: • Direct supervision of contractors to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures geared towards maximizing safety, compliance, and production. • Develop capital, major maintenance, and O&M budgets. • Oversee the day-to-day management of maintenance programs and budgets. • Responsible for understanding and complying with NERC, OSHA, and State Health Department rules and regulations. • Must stay abreast of safe work practices and ensure they are communicated and complied with by all employees and contractors. • Serve as primary point of contact for landowners and contractors. • Responsible for 24x7 generation operations. • Provide monthly data reporting for all renewable generation facilities. • Assist with overseeing the construction and commissioning progress of new renewable energy projects. Additional Responsibilities: • Assist with project bids and evaluations as required for new facilities. • Review CMS data, blade inspection, and blade repair reports. • Audit turbine quality on a monthly basis. • Must be able to travel 25% - 35% of the time depending on staff needs. What Is Required: • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field; or a combination of education and experience is required. • Minimum of 5 years of renewable power generation experience is required. • Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience is required. • Demonstrated technical, financial and operational expertise. • Ability to manage large geographic area and multiple locations across Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska, and South Dakota. What Is Desired: • Experience working with Vestas and/or GE turbine technology is desired. • Demonstrated ability in effectively leading a team. • Strong understanding of the use of personal computers & MS Office. • Proven leadership skills including coaching and motivating. • Strong interpersonal communication skills and presentation skills. • Knowledge of best maintenance practices. • Skilled in contract negotiation and management. • Knowledge of best safety practices particularly in power plant and shop environments. • Skilled at comprehending company policies and processes. • Strong technical skills relating to wind turbines with an ability and desire to learn solar and battery storage.
