JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for providing leadership and support for the HJAIA GPC Instrument & Controls Technician team and for managing, operating and maintaining the HJAIA Backup Generation System (Power Secure Diesel Generator Sets totaling approximately 60 MWs) in a safe, compliant, reliable, and efficient manner.
This position is accountable for safety; environmental and regulatory compliance; team development and technical direction; performance management; managing resources and work priorities; O&M and Capital budget development and management; development and management of maintenance strategy and PMs; development of operational protocols and procedures; coordination of contracts and contractors; maintaining relationships with external airport stakeholders and internal GPC Distribution personnel; and other related goals as identified in the business plan.
This position is based at the Atlanta Hartsfield - Jackson International Airport (HJAIA).
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide leadership, direction, and support for Instrument & Control Technician team. Ensure safe and compliant LOTO program for the equipment. Manage the overall compliance of the equipment including but not limited to safety, environmental, financial, and contract/contractor management. Provide project management leadership and support – equipment checkout/startup and ongoing support. Provide asset management for the equipment, including performing and maintaining a maintenance strategy with optimized PMs. Develop protocols and procedures for operating and maintaining the equipment. Develop and manage Capital and O&M budgets to meet year-end projections. Write/approve purchase requisitions, invoices, etc. Maintain familiarity with all maintenance activities within the facilities and keep abreast of ongoing issues. Work with vendors and contractors as necessary to ensure proper maintenance and operation of the equipment. Work with SC Generation M&D Center to monitor operational activities and alarms and perform routine testing. Administer workflow process in Maximo. Review CRs daily and ensure work orders are prioritized, planned, executed, and closed out. Develop and implement an inventory management process. Work with and coordinate activities with GPC Distribution personnel as required. Develop and maintain good working relationships with airport stakeholders.JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor or an Associate degree is a plus. Supervisory experience including performance management preferred. Work experience in generating plant maintenance or operations preferred. Strong knowledge of I&C (including Controls, PLCs) preferred. Strong knowledge of Electrical maintenance (including Switchgear, Relays, Generators) preferred. Mechanical skills and experience with diesel engines a plus. Project management experience preferred. Working knowledge of MAXIMO. Understanding of maintenance strategy, budgeting, cost reporting, and reliability reporting. Ability to communicate effectively at all working and management levels. Competency with current Windows operating system and Microsoft Office Suite. Must be available for extended work hours including nights and weekends. Some travel across the system required. Must be flexible, forward-thinking, and strategic-minded to plan for needs of the system.
