The Food and Beverage Supervisor is responsible for maintaining established high standards of quality and accuracy for all positions through positive leadership and teamwork. Come work and play at Seattle’s home mountain, The Summit at Snoqualmie. Located an hour from Seattle, at the junction where the Pacific Crest Trail crosses Interstate 90. With summer activities ramping up with spectacular Mountain Biking trails and Scenic Lift Rides, there is lots to do all year long. Responsibilities Position Summary: The Ski Rental Manager oversees all aspects of the ski rental operations in accordance with corporate policy. This role involves leading a dedicated staff to deliver outstanding guest service while managing the rental of alpine skis, snowboards, and associated products. The manager will establish departmental policies and procedures, develop, and monitor budgets, and ensure profitable operations. The ideal candidate is proactive, takes initiative, and embodies a "can-do" attitude. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this classification and are not all-inclusive of the specific position. Directly manage and supervise all rental shop operations to ensure efficiency and an excellent guest experience. Maintain a high level of visual presentation in accordance with property standards producing a clean, safe and fun atmosphere for guests and employees. Analyze daily operations to improve staffing levels, working conditions, and overall guest service quality enhance revenue. Establish departmental standards and objectives while overseeing budgetary and staffing processes for effective and efficient departmental performance. Monitor and evaluate departmental performance to plan for both short-term and long-term strategies. Assess strengths and weaknesses in operations to implement improvements and optimize resource allocation. Ensure proper inventory levels and participate in purchasing and testing rental equipment from vendors. Train staff on ski maintenance, binding adjustments, and boot fitting techniques; ensure all technicians hold current certifications. Prioritize safety for all staff and guests; schedule regular safety meetings and maintain safety records naturing a culture of safety. Update and maintain departmental and technical manuals, as necessary. Communicate effectively with all employees, guests, and external contacts. Foster strong relationships within the team to ensure exceptional guest service. Manage staff effectively in a high-pressure environment while meeting company deadlines and maintaining professional standards. Oversee the ongoing maintenance, inventory and reporting of rental equipment and ensure a supply of quality rental products. Ensure adherence to proper point-of-sale (POS) procedures across the department. Competencies: Guest Focus: Create positive impressions and provide exceptional service to all guests. Qualifications Qualifications: Familiarity with advanced ski and snowboard repair and boot fitting techniques. Highly motivated individual with excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Experience handling high volumes of cash and retail transactions. Required. Experience using UKG, Office 365, Teams, and other basic computer software. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; minimum of two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Leadership or supervisory experience in a related field is essential. Certification from U.S. binding companies (e.g., Marker, Salomon, Look, Tyrolia) is required within your first 14 days. Ability to perform calmly in a fast-paced, high-stress environment. Knowledge of ski resorts and a working knowledge of ski and snowboard equipment is preferred. Fluency in a language other than English is a plus, especially Spanish, Russian, Hindi, Japanese, Cantonese, Mandarin, Urdu, Arabic and Tagalog. Physical Demands: The employee must meet the following physical requirements to perform the essential functions of this job: Regularly required to stand, use hands to handle equipment, reach with arms, and communicate effectively. Frequently required to walk; occasionally required to sit, climb, kneel, or crawl. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment: The work environment characteristics include: Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. Frequent work in high, precarious places. Occasional exposure to toxic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. Generally loud noise levels due to machinery and equipment in the area. Wage and Benefit Info: The wage range for this position is $27 to $32 per hour (DOE). This is a full-time seasonal position with the possibility of transitioning to full-time year-round based on performance and departmental needs. This is a seasonal non-benefited position. All employees may contribute to the 401(k). An employee must work 1,000 hours in a calendar year to qualify for the discretionary match (there is a 2-year vesting cliff). Employees accrue sick time at a rate of 1 hour per 40 hours worked, up to a maximum of 64 hours per year.
