This position is responsible for meeting sales and revenue goals and objectives. The role requires meeting with customers on project sites and corporate offices to identify and understand the opportunity, develop and present solutions/proposals and communicate the advantages and benefits Altorfer Power Rental provides. Prepare quotes for customers based on most cost effective design and layout. Leverage relationships to gain business on future projects. Identify new opportunities through a variety of methods including referrals, territory knowledge, field identification of new projects, and others. This position would cater to the market segments of customers who consistently rent generators, temperature control equipment, and large industrial compressors.
Basic DutiesPRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):
Generate profitable business from rental sales of generators, air compressors, and temperature control applications.Establish new accounts through phone calls and in-person visits to potential customers.Present turnkey services to prospective customers. Work with technical staff to provide customers with job site assessments, application solutions and plans, equipment sizing, professional quote writing, credit authorization assistance, problem resolution, and follow-through.Make formal sales presentations to customer decision makers. Educate customer on equipment through demonstrations and personal training sessions.Assist the operations staff by following up with customers on invoices and payments.Report sales activity on new accounts, existing accounts, revenue, utilization, calls, etc., using Saleslink and other tools.Work closely with the CAT Dealer network to rerent needed equipment.Work with operations staff to coordinate job setups, freight, on-site PM services, and field repairs. QualificationsEDUCATION/QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.Generator and electrical equipment technical knowledge preferable.Industrial industry, electrical/utility industry, or construction industry experience in sales or project management is preferred.A valid driver’s license is required.Possess an aggressive outgoing sales approach and enjoy hunting down and winning business.Has experience in growing relationships with existing customers and prospecting for new customers.Developed and grow a territory through prospecting, account development and relationship building.Respond to customer and team member calls timely and with a sense of urgency.Ability to perform duties, and work in a fast paced environment.Has excellent time management and organizational skills.Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (especially Outlook and Excel) and has solid computer skills.Strong customer service skills with the ability to successfully cold call new and potential customers.Have the ability to multi-task and manage changing priorities.A self starter who can successfully develop and execute a sales plan.Must be willing to be available after hours to support and resolve customer issues. Physical Requirements/Working ConditionsThis position works in an office environment most of the time and occasionally travels to customer sites. Office environment will include sitting at a desk for a period of time to answer phone calls or use a keyboard to complete documents and communicate through email. The noise level at the customer’s site may be moderate to low and the office environment is usually low. May be required to wear appropriate safety equipment (IE- Safety glasses or side shields, steel toe boots, hard hat, etc.) when needed. May, on a continuous basis, walk, bend and lift up to 25lbs. Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed. Occasional travel will be required.
