An exciting opportunity has arisen in Rolls-Royce as we are seeking to recruit a a Repair Design Engineer.
As a repair design engineer you will provide critically important support to a portfolio of operational Defence customers and Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) facilities, with applications including Adour, EJ200, RB199, Gem, Gnome, Viper, Spey, MTR390, MT30, Pegasus, TP400, MRTT and WR21.

This Repair Design Engineer role is in Rolls-Royce’s Defence division and will be based in Bristol and part of the wider Mature Engines programme focused on supporting our existing customers.

You will define, validate, and support the implementation of repair instructions, inspection criteria, maintenance policies and procedures at component level. This will enable you to develop your ability to solve problems, define requirements, and prepare repair definitions. You will be required to work closely with other Engineering teams including Systems & Component Design, Materials Applications and Manufacturing Engineering, gaining additional understanding and skills.

What you will be doing
We are looking for an enthusiastic Repair Design Engineer to join our team who is able to build upon their existing skills to provide our customers with the solutions necessary to enable them to maintain the ability to execute their essential operations. You will be required to:
Define, develop, and substantiate Repair Instructions. Co-ordinate the implementation of these Repair instructions at both internal and external Repair suppliers.Define acceptance standards for service run components. Provide technical support to MRO operations both internally and externally in the delivery of component maintenance including disposition of unserviceable hardware.In conjunction with the Materials Repair Technology team develop and exploit new Repair and Inspection technologies to support the identification of opportunities to reduce the cost of component repair.Continuously improve the processes and tools used to develop and support the definition of repair instructions.Who we’re looking for:

To be successful in this role you will:be educated to degree level in a STEM subject and/ or have experience in a relevant engineering environment (Mechanical, Aeronautical, Electrical or Controls). Other qualifications, in combination with relevant experience, may also be considered.possess a broad understanding of Gas Turbine technologies, but training can be provided to develop this if appropriate.possess strong technical and analytical skills, problem-solving ability, personal drive, excellent communication and presentation skills, and will need to contribute effectively to a team environment.have experience of Computer Aided Design software.be required to manage multiple delivery commitments to varying timelines and customers.*To work for Rolls-Royce you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place.
