Position Summary:
Inspects, analyzes, and develops repairs of tubes, ducts and manifolds defined by OEM manuals, customer requirements, FAA, EASA, CAAC and industry expertise, incorporated into internal work packages. Applies experience with broad range of OEM manuals supporting development of various types of repair certifications. Must be able to organize and manage multiple priorities in a in a fast paced environment. Must be able to work within a team environment with excellent communication skills. Performs root cause analysis to determine damage from customer product, warranty returns and supports continuous improvement utilizing standard tools and in additional XRF, FPI, and CMM data.
Key Position Responsibilities:
Acts proactively supporting safety at all times. Safety is ALWAYS first. Develop repair schemes from OEM technical document to repair customer product. Reverse engineer components supporting repair. Utilize engine and component manuals to obtain the technical data required to overhaul components. Manages and accountable for projects of varying scopes from repair product to Airtomic designed product, including coordinating with internal and offsite resources, suppliers, customers, design reviews, and customer proposals. Coordinates with quality assurance creating inspections requirements for overhaul. Draw components, assemblies, tooling and any other required schematics. Creates BOM and coordinates vendor selection with purchasing. Maintains document control requirements. Reviews work instruction to improve overhaul processes. Helps with general housekeeping of the area during the working hours. Helps support the other needs of the engineering team when required. Review, determine and solve product rejections (RNs) Supports R&D of our products including analysis and qualification testing. Supports continuous improvement Performs other related duties as required.Required qualification / Education / and/or Experience:
Bachelor Degree on technical or engineering field or equivalent experience. Must be proficient with Microsoft office suite. Must be proficient with Windchill and Solidworks. Must be capable to write, read, and speak English at a college level. Must be proficient utilizing math at a college level. Must be experienced, excellent researcher, report-writing skills, dynamic and creative problem solving, as well as professional and positive interpersonal, verbal, written, presentation skills and works well in a team environment. Ability to organize priorities, daily tasks and completed actions on time, in a fast-paced environment. Ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external customers. Strong ability to assess and understand customer technical requirements, as well as understanding and providing value added alternatives to daily routines. Must be able to pass DOT/FAA drug screening.Preferred Qualifications:
3 or more years of engineering aerospace MRO/OEM experience. Experience with aircraft engine overhaul and repair. Working knowledge of FAR regulations and their applications. Strong technical background due to experience in different mechanical and technical fields. Previous experience with airlines, MRO and Repair Station operation companies is a plus. Knowledge of Quantum ERP software. The ideal candidate will have a sound understanding of aircraft components with a technical knowledge of rigid tube components and their operating systems.Travel – 10%
