Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit Facilities Operations has the responsibility of providing a wide range of services to all administrative departments, students programs, and all academic schools and departments. Services include all aspects of corrective and preventive maintenance, operations, grounds maintenance, housekeeping, utility infrastructure maintenance and operations, business operations, safety, regulatory compliance, project management, and renovations. These duties are conducted for a campus consisting of over 100 buildings totaling 6 million gross square feet on over 275 acres. Position Summary This position is responsible for the following tasks: Safety (20%), Equipment repair (20%), Routine Maintenance (20%) and 20% Equipment Diagnostic, TMA System and Work Orders (15%), along with special projects including, but not limited to: inclement weather planning and Adverse Weather-Snow Removal (5%)

This position is a mandatory position as defined in the Adverse Weather and Emergency Event Policy. Minimum Qualifications

HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENCY; OR DEMONSTRATED POSSESSION OF THE COMPETENCIES NEEDED TO PERFORM THE WORK. OPTIONAL GUIDELINES: EXPERIENCE IN THE FIELD OF WORK RELATED TO THE POSITION’S ROLE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED ON A YEAR-FOR-YEAR BASIS.

Additional Required Certifications, Licensures, and Certificates Driver’s License required Preferred Qualifications Associate’s degree from a certified Technical College or equivalent experience. 3 years’ experience in the maintenance or repair of equipment and/or small engines (ex. 2 cylinder engines). Key Responsibility Safety Essential Tasks Practices proper use of PPE and LOTO procedures when performing preventive maintenance of assigned tools and equipment.  Assist in safeguarding others when equipment is being repaired or lifted, either on a hydraulic lift, lift gate, or jack, while performing oil changes, mounting tires, and/or removing transmissions, and other repairs, both in shop and in the field.  Promotes safe operating procedures and training to Facility Services staff and equipment operators. Key Responsibility Equipment Repair Essential Tasks Perform all aspects of equipment preventive maintenance and repairs for Facility Services, ensuring all work follows safety, service manual, and current repair standards and practices.  Coordinates with supervisors and managers to schedule equipment repairs and transportation of equipment. Key Responsibility Routine Maintenance Essential Tasks Perform all aspects of PM/routine maintenance to include, but not limited to, the following: Transmission, drive line, and suspension, diagnosis and repair. Oil change/engine tune-up (pressure washers, snowblowers) Electrical troubleshooting and repair. Brake diagnosis and repair. Fuel system diagnosis and repair. Tire replacement and repairs. Repairs to stationary equipment and equipment used for campus maintenance (Ride-on Janitorial equipment, lifts, high-speed burnishers, carts, etc.). Key Responsibility Equipment Diagnostic Essential Tasks Conduct physical inspects of Facility Service equipment utilizing HID (Human Interface Drive) in conjunction service diagnostic software to perform both maintain and repair. Key Responsibility TMA System and Work Orders Essential Tasks Generate and complete work orders/PM’s within depth detail to work order summary.  Generate purchase requisitions as needed to make equipment repairs.  Inventories departmental equipment and ensures that information for new equipment is accurately added into the TMA PM system as required. Key Responsibility Adverse Weather – Snow Removal Essential Tasks Knowledgeable of the adverse weather plan and will participate with snow removal.  This position is an essential position for all weather occurrences, providing planning, support and distribution of weather event related equipment and supplies.
