NBCUniversal’s KXAS is seeking a highly motivated and driven News Reporter to join its team in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. In this role, you will gather, investigate, and report breaking news, delivering compelling content across multiple platforms, including on-air, online, and streaming.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for investigative journalism and experience covering law enforcement, with a proven ability to build strong sources within the community. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a breaking news environment, excels under tight deadlines, and consistently pitches unique and impactful enterprise stories.

+ Minimum 5 years of television reporting experience
+ Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
+ Proven track record of live reporting and strong storytelling skillset
+ Proven experience working on investigative stories
+ Experience building deep sources in community
+ The ability to collaborate across broader newsroom
+ Excellent writing skillset
+ Excellent communication and time management skills
+ Experience contributing to non-linear platforms
+ Must be able to handle intense deadline pressure
+ Must be able to ad-lib effortlessly in various types of situations, particularly breaking news
Desired Characteristics
+ Bilingual in English & Spanish reading, speaking, and writing
+ General assignment reporting skills preferred
+ Ability to enterprise stories
+ Experience with digital editing and photography a plus
+ Experience working simultaneously on web products
+ Strong knowledge of social networking in relygard to content gathering and distribution
Eligibility Requirements
+ Must be willing to work in Fort Worth, TX, just south of DFW airport
+ Must submit a video/reel/demo of work to be considered
+ Must have a valid driver’s license
+ Must be 18 years or greater
+ Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
+ Must be able to work long hours and a variety of shifts, when necessary
+ Must accept Solutions as NBCUniversal’s Alternative Dispute Resolution program
