Job Description

OVERVIEW

CNBC is seeking an experienced Reporter/ Anchor, India based in Singapore to generate enterprise business stories, deliver them on TV, and contribute to digital and social platforms. You will be responsible for newsgathering, building relationships internally and externally, writing and producing key business stories and fronting the delivery for all platforms. With India as your primary focus, you must have proven experience in reporting on its economy, markets, and business landscape. You will also be responsible for developing a strong network of sources to generate proprietary stories unique to CNBC.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Act as the lead India television reporter/ anchor to news-gather and develop stories for on-air and digital platformsProduce and report stories from the fieldWrite and contribute digital articles for publication on CNBC.comWrite clean, clear and accurate news copyDevelop financial and business news knowledgeContribute and develop story ideas and develop and invite guests to CNBC showsConduct live hits and conversations on CNBC shows on beat subject matterDevelop sources and generate independent reportingWork closely with each member of production team (TV, Digital and Social), news editors, other anchors, reporters and correspondents, and operations staffContribute to show planning, production, and execution, stepping in as neededWork with newsroom management team to drive daily editorial agenda for CNBC showsWork with the company’s marketing department as requested to promote CNBCFlexibility to work different shifts and over some weekends to cover breaking news, events, and other business needsWillingness to travel overseas for reporting, often on short notice

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Proven experience in business and/or financial news writing and reporting live, breaking newsExperience in presenting and adapting stories across multiple platformsIn-depth knowledge of business news, financial markets and global current affairs  Ability to handle deadline pressure and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentProficient in written and spoken English languages for writing and editing scripts

 

DESIRED ATTRIBUTES

While not essential for this role, candidates with experience or proficiency in the following attributes tend to excel in this position.   

Minimum 5 years of experience working in a similar roleFamiliarity with using key newsroom systems and applicationsBackground in working for a leading wire service or business news organization
