ROLE:  FOX 5 San Diego/KUSI News duopoly is seeking a Reporter/Multi-Media Journalist for our broadcast and digital platforms.  The successful applicant will have a proven ability to enterprise stories that connect with audiences on broadcast, website and social. The position requires the MMJ to shoot, write and edit vosots and packages. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accurate reporting of news storiesAttends editorial meetings and regularly pitches original story ideasDevelops community contacts and a network of news sourcesSets up, write, shoot and edit packages to meet deadlines dailyCollaborates with photographer on live shots as neededContributes to our digital platforms by writing and editing storiesEnsures all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production qualityAttends station partnerships in communityPerform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

B.A. or B.S. Degree preferably in journalism, communication or equivalent related experiencePrefer 3-5 years TV news reporting in a medium to large market

Must interact positively and productively with colleagues and the publicUpholds station values and models professionalism on and off the airExceptional writing, grammar and spellingExcellent communication skills with ability to ad-lib when requiredStrong on-air presentation – must be credible, personable and engagingAdobe Premiere experience and video camera/news photography skillsAbility to carry 25-30 pounds of equipmentFlexible with schedule and willing to work additional hours or days or different shifts and holidays as required by news contentStrong attention to detailMust be able to accept constructive direction and feedback

Compensation – Starting at $31/hr commensurate with experience and skill level.
