An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Requirements Engineer to join the SSN AUKUS Chief Engineering Team in Derby.

The opportunity is to take a key role in requirements management, design configuration and design assurance. You will be front and centre in understanding our customer’s requirements, providing clarity of direction into the engineering functions through the Whole Plant Team, and facilitating meaningful discussions on requirements trading. With the changes introduced by the AUKUS agreement, requirements management and systems engineering have renewed importance if we are to deliver on our commitments. We’re looking for someone who’s up for the challenge that a complex technical programme with tight timescales brings.

What you’ll be doing:

Your day to day responsibilities within the role will cover:

Ensuring delivery in line with policy and expectations for requirements management across the SSN AUKUS projectManagement of customer/external requirements, ensuring internal ownership and cascadeImplementation of requirement trades, assessment and feedback of design implicationsAssurance of the SSN AUKUS design configuration in DOORS and actioning remedial activities where necessaryAssessments of design and substantiation completeness and tracking and driving burn down to hit programme milestonesBeing an advocate of a systems engineering approach and the single point of contact in the SSN AUKUS Chief Engineering team for requirements management.

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance.
