MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To attend to emergency calls, provide medical care in line with scope of practice and provide access rescue services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

Ensure operational readiness for emergency calls

Provide basic access rescue

Administer patient care in line with scope of practice

Provide professional emergency services to clients and relationship maintenance

REQUIRED EDUCATION

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Basic Ambulance Assistant Certificate  
LMVR (Light motor vehicle rescue) Rope rescue Level 1 and Level  2     

DESIRED EDUCATION:  Advanced Certificate in Rescue. Successful completion of training related to Clinical Practice Guidelines published by the Health Professions Council of South Africa will be advantageous. If not compliant with the clinical practice guidelines at the time of application you will be required to complete this training during your probation period if successful in your application.               

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 2 Years BLS experience

DESIRED EXPERIENCE : 2 year BLS experience , Verifiable rescue experience

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Computer literate (Microsoft Office) EMS and Rescue environment Facilities, travel routes and demographical area Hazmat awareness Knowledge and application of best practice Patient Report Forms Proficiency in the English language (written and verbal) Relevant legislative regulations Specific client rules and regulations
