Job Description
Review research administration post award ledgers and accounting to ensure accuracy. In addition, review research administrative processes to ensure efficient and effective management of grants and contracts. The primary focus of review is on biomolecular engineering grants with a specific focus on grants from the National Institute of Health (NIH - $4M over 5 years) and the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM - $5M over 5 years).
Deliverables
Review of post award ledgers and accounting for current IRACDA grant (NIH) and prepare a financial report with recommendations by April 1, 2025.
Prepare a financial report for the CIRM Fellowship grant covering budget years 1 - 3 by June 1, 2025.
Review and reconcile annual financial reports prepared by the division for years 1, 2, and 3 of the CIRM Fellowship grant by June 1, 2025.
Meet biweekly or as needed with the Assistant Dean, Chief Operating Officer, and Assistant Finance Director to report on findings.
Review post award processes and effectiveness of communication around reports to PIs, develop recommendations and report out to the Assistant Dean, Chief Operating Officer, and Assistant Finance Director by July 31, 2025.

Skills and Requirements
10+ years of Research Administration experience
Substantial expertise in biomedical grants with a specialization in NIH post award reporting, including training and fellowship grants (e.g. T32, T99, and K12)
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to understand and distill complex post award details and communicate this information effectively to Principal Investigators and divisional leadership.
Ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
Experience in navigating UC data and financial reports (e.g. DOPE reports).
Experience working with complex, multi-year grants totaling $1M or more per year. null
