Our sustained investment in research, development, and invention means we’re always ready to solve the toughest challenges alongside our customers. **Role Purpose** The intern will support ongoing work in modeling and materials informatics helping to build models and tools for Corning scientists. The tool development will involve Python and/or JavaScript frameworks and the resultant tools would ideally be integrated into the internal Materials Informatics platform. The primary goal of this internship is to provide tools that improve the efficiency of materials discovery by Corning scientists by leveraging our internal data/models and modern UI frameworks. **Key Responsibilities** The intern will work with Porter Weeks to provide more specific details of the aforementioned tasks. Day-to-day responsibilities may include: + Familiarization with Materials Informatics platform for tool development. + Python/JS code development. + Frequent interaction with Porter and MI team to ensure that models/tools being developed are on the right track. **Experiences/Education - Required** + Education and Experience: Pursuing undergraduate degree in Computer Science/Materials Science + Python experience + Collaborative mindset **Experiences/Education - Desired** + JavaScript Development + Vue framework + Streamlit framework + User Interface development **This position does not support immigration sponsorship.** ​The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly.
