As a Research & Policy Manager, you’ll be responsible for developing Peabody and G15’s public policy positioning, ensuring it is backed by rigorous research and aligns with our strategic priorities. You’ll refine our policy asks of central, regional, and local government, oversee key public policy consultations, and engage with stakeholders to gather evidence and insights. A key part of your role will be working with the G15 residents’ group, supporting them to participate in policy discussions and consultations.
You’re a collaborative worker with a strong understanding of social housing, policymaking, and London and national politics. You’ll be confident in presenting research findings and advocating for our policy positions. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to build relationships at senior levels and engage in constructive policy debates.
You’ll need to be in the office for a minimum of 2 days per week and the remaining time you’ll be able to work remotely.
You’ll play a crucial role in shaping Peabody and G15’s public policy programme. You will lead on research, produce thought leadership, and ensure our policy work is informed by the experiences of social housing residents. Your work will drive debate, influence policy, and support our external relations activity.
In addition, you’ll lead Peabody’s public policy research and knowledge centre, producing high-quality analysis on issues affecting our residents. You will provide expert advice on legislative and regulatory developments, ensuring our leadership team is well informed about sector policy debates. Collaborating with the Head of Public Affairs, you will support the CEO with external briefings and board reports. You will also manage relationships with key industry bodies, including G15 member organisations, the National Housing Federation, the Local Government Association, and London Councils.
