Job Summary

Under the supervision of lab PI Dr. Hillmer, co-Director at the University of Michigan PET Center, the candidate will conduct and execute projects involving the development and analysis of research brain imaging data. This includes managing aspects of database maintenance, data processing, and data analysis for projects in the lab. The Research Area Specialist will:

Contribute to the setup, operation, and maintenance of PET image data processing infrastructure. Organize and collect quality control data. Assist in the determination of the causes of the data anomalies and the execution of new procedures and data correction techniques.Provide assistance in planning research experiments, organizing and analyzing brain imaging data, and troubleshooting issues. Research and make recommendations regarding the design and implementation of new methodology, procedures and protocols for improved accuracy, reliability, and analysis throughput. Design and develop image and data processing programs in multiple programming languages to handle new types of data or to facilitate brain imaging data analyses. Assist in writing reports for inclusion with grant proposals, application, and reports to industry partners. Perform literature reviews as appropriate. Draft and edit papers or portions of papers for publication. Assist in the upkeep of the lab computer system including data retrieval, system upgrades, patient info and computer security. Train and assist collaborators on the use of software and systems. Organize and present results from image and data analyses to physicians, physicists, other staff and industry collaborators.Mission Statement

Background Screening
