Research Assistant, Faculty Services - McDonough School of Business

The Research Assistant, Faculty Services serves as a research assistant for MSB faculty as well as an overall assistant for special projects and events. The Research Assistant assists the faculty in a variety of research and planning tasks. The Research Assistant has duties that include but are not limited to:

Assist faculty in instructional course development and support.

Assist faculty in implementing special projects, events and research initiatives.

Perform literature searches using web sources and library resources.

Create tables, charts, and graphics using existing data, preparing materials for submission, and managing/responding to research project related emails.

Manage and update databases, including collecting and evaluating data, performing statistical analyses and crafting graphical and written reports of results.

Support faculty with administrative responsibilities, such as entering grades, reserving rooms, posting to Canvas, handling correspondence, and scheduling.

Manage student workers assigned to faculty on an as-needed basis.

Work Interactions

Reporting to the Vice Dean of Faculty and working closely with an academic Area Coordinator, the Research Assistant will, at times, have to interface with individuals and organizations external to the McDonough School of Business and Georgetown University to help with the implementation of special projects and plan events.

Requirements and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree

0-2  years of experience required (or equivalent combination of education and work experience)

Good working knowledge of PC operation

Strong organizational skills and the ability to work creatively and independently

Ability to work as part of a team and supervise students

Familiarity with library research databases

Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint and Word and familiarity with Google Drive, calendar management

Interest in research and possible interest in pursuing preferred

3 to 5 years of business or research experience preferred

Work Mode Designation

This position’s work mode has been designated as Hybrid (3 days a week on campus). Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$41,926.00 - $65,090.00

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
