We are seeking a dedicated Research Assistant to join our esteemed neuroscience research team. The successful candidate will contribute to the preclinical development of therapeutic antibodies through laboratory-based research, focusing on the development and execution of assays to characterize antibody function for various neuroscience-related diseases.
This is a lab-based role within the discovery biologics team.
• Work within an experienced team to develop therapeutic antibodies targeting neuroscience diseases
• Design and perform experiments using mammalian cell lines to assess antibody function
• Collaborate across teams to express, purify and characterise antibodies
• Collect, analyse, and interpret experimental data
• Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records
• Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and supplies
• Participate in lab meetings and discussions
• Ensure compliance with all institutional and regulatory guidelines for laboratory safety and research ethics
• Participate in general laboratory duties and serve on in-house committees
• Bachelor of science with Honours or Masters in life sciences or biotechnology with laboratory experience
• Proficiency in developing and performing medium-to-high throughput immunoassays or other cell-based assays
• Experience in mammalian cell culture
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated experience in molecular and protein biology techniques, including protein expression and purification would be well regarded
• Experience or interest in neuroscience or cell biology
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Well-organized and able to coordinate multiple activities simultaneously
