Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a per diem Research Assistant for the department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, assist in single-molecule biophysical analysis of force-producing enzymes.

Among the key duties of this position are the following: Prepare samples and carry out single-molecule biophysical assays on force-producing enzymes. Daily maintenance of various cell cultures. Maintain custom-built instrumentation for optical and magnetic tweezers. Use and improve custom-written LabVIEW and MATLAB scripts for data acquisition and analysis. General molecular biology and recombinant protein preparation. Maintain clear and comprehensive laboratory records. Perform statistical analyses of research data.
