The Oregon National Primate Research Center (ONPRC) is located 12 miles west of the OHSU main campus, and sits on 162 acres of land featuring forested areas, research and administration buildings, indoor and outdoor animal housing, and 2-mile perimeter walking path. Our mission is to improve human health and the quality of life through the support of nonhuman primate research programs that advance our knowledge of the causes, preventions, treatments, and cures of debilitating diseases.
Function/Duties of PositionPerform experiments in a neuroscience laboratory, maintain records, and perform laboratory administrative duties; Assist lab staff with experiments.
Key Responsibilities & Performance Standards
1. Maintains laboratory records
2. Performs experiments using a variety of techniques including tissue culture, immunohistochemistry, gel electrophoresis, microscopy, western blotting, and other procedures as needed
3. Maintains mouse animal colony and performs mouse experiments as needed including induction of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis and sterotactic injections
4. Attend lab meetings and give regular reports on ongoing experiments
Required QualificationsEducation:
Bachelor's in any field OR
Associate's AND 2 years of relevant experience OR
3 years of relevant experience OR
Equivalent combination of training and experience
