Position Summary:
Provide image processing support for academic and industrial users of the Macdonald Campus Multi-Scale Imaging Facility.
Train students and users on the use of image analysis software packages including ImageJ/Fiji, Imaris and Dragonfly.
Assist the users in their segmentation and image analysis requirements.
Analyze microscopy and CT-scanner images and data as requested by users and external clients.
Develop and write scripts for automated image analyses requirements.
Recommend and carry out relevant statistical analyses.
Contribute to the organization and delivery of short courses and workshops on image analysis.
Generate written and oral presentations of technical updates for internal audiences.
Collaborate with the manager of the Multi-Scale Imaging Facility on the development of grant proposals and business plans.
Qualifications:
Master degree in life sciences, bioinformatics, computer science, engineering or a connex specialty.
Minimum 3 years of experience in image analysis and programming.
Experience with ImageJ /FIJI, Imaris, Dragonfly and Matlab software packages.
Experience in segmentation is a requirement.
Knowledge of programming in Phython and/or R, Matlab.
Experience in fluorescence microscopy is a requirement
Experience in colocalization analysis and CT-scanning is an asset.
Experience in machine learning is an asset.
Start date Feb.2025. Contract of 2 years, renewable upon the availability of funding.
