RESEARCH ASSISTANT 2 OR RESEARCH ASSOCIATE IN PLANT PATHOLOGY/MOLECULAR MICROBIOLOGY

(1 year renewable contract)

 

Position Summary:
Conduct research in molecular plant-microbe interactions, biological control of plant pathogens and plant pathology. Assist with lab management, including the new plant pest containment laboratory, develop and optimize protocols, collect, analyze and interpret data (including statistical analyses), prepare tables, figures and drafts for publication, train new lab members/users of the plant pest containment laboratory.

Qualifications:

To be hired as Research Assistant, must possess a MSc in Plant Science, Biology or equivalent.

To be hired as Research Associate , must possess a PhD in Plant Science, Biology or equivalent.

Experience in plant pathology, microbiology and molecular plant-microbe interactions. High organizational skills. Able to work in the laboratory and in a field environment. Able to prioritize and multi-task. Able to work both independently and collaboratively. Good oral and written skills. Preferably bilingual (English and French).

 

Salary range:

Research Assistant 2, 30.75 - 49.20 CAD Hourly

Research Associate, 32.60 - 52.15 CAD Hourly
