Position Title: Research Assistant
Anticipated Start Date: May 2025
Reports to: Meyers Faculty Member
Work Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week)
We are seeking a highly motivated, self-directed research assistant to join a multidisciplinary team and support ongoing academic research activities. Much of the work will focus on Afro-Caribbean populations, primary care settings, community partner engagement, and chronic conditions such as cardiometabolic diseases. Qualified candidates should have CITI certification (ethics training), a working knowledge of statistical analysis, and strong writing skills. This opportunity is ideal for individuals interested in pursuing future careers or advanced degrees in clinical research or public health.
Responsibilities:
The position involves many distinct roles and responsibilities that include, but are not limited to:
+ Monitors study activities to ensure compliance with protocols, and institutional polices. Maintains required records of study activity including surveys, and consent forms. Tracks enrollment status of subjects and documents dropout information such as dropout causes and subject contact efforts.
+ Obtain consent, maintain files, schedule and conducts on and off-site interviews using a variety of structured and non-structured questionnaires, maintaining data collection files, assisting with data analysis, and generating correspondence.
+ Collects data from potential research study participants by conducting interviews, providing questionnaires.
+ Follows up with research study participants by conducting phone calls and/or face-to-face visits. Provides additional research information, resolves any data inaccuracies.
+ Collaborate with project manager and Principal Investigator (PI) to prepare IRB and study documentation (informed consent document, enrollment logs, questionaries) for submission.
+ Ensure the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of on-site research. Prepares study kits and requisitions prior to study visits to ensure the appropriate items are available when necessary (evenings and some travel may be required).
+ Contributes to preparation of abstracts and presentations for conference and professional meetings; Assist with literature reviews, manuscript preparations; Participate in special projects and perform other general office duties as required (e.g., schedule team meetings, copying, filing, and organizing research documents).
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $48,450.00 to USD $58,000.00.
