Research Assistant
We are seeking a **_Research Assistant_** who will function and carry out procedures under direct supervision in the Express Radiology Research Lab. The Research Assistant will assist with lab tasks under close supervision of senior lab personnel, perform research tests utilizing lab equipment and instruments, make minor adjustments as required, perform inventory and ordering of supplies, perform organization of lab, respond to email requests and phone requests for lab usage. **Specific Duties and Responsibilities** + Perform lab tests using equipment and instruments, making adjustments as needed. + Setup of research projects and labs daily. + Maintain a smooth workflow of lab scheduling. + Clean the lab between uses and maintain good lab practices while in use. + Sterilize instruments properly. + Assist with preparations for inspections, principal investigator scheduling, and invoicing inquiries. + Send directions and discharge information to patients. + Assist with imaging data collection, data transfer, and data analysis. + Responsible for a small amount of assistant animal duties (<10%) under direct supervision. + Be prepared to work with biohazards and radiation. + Participation and communication in regular lab meetings. _Additional_ + High School Diploma or graduation equivalent. + Proficiency in the use of software applications, databases, spreadsheets, and word processing is helpful. Knowledge of medical terminology is helpful. + Outstanding organizational skills required. + Excellent attention to detail skills required. + Must have excellent time management skill. + Ability to understand and implement support for research studies. + Requires outstanding verbal communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work well within a research team. + Must adhere to guidelines regarding honest reporting of sensitive and confidential research information. + Understands the importance/impact of data integrity in terms of procedures, study results, costs, quality of service and scientific research in general. + Regular contact with the PI, co-PI, faculty, other senior staff and requires the use of good judgment, tact and sensitivity. **Minimum Qualifications** + Bachelor's Degree in related discipline. + Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
