Position Summary:
The Indian Ocean World Centre (IOWC) at McGill University seeks one (1) part-time MA student research assistant, whose primary responsibility will be to facilitate the IOWC’s research activities and events. This position is for a specialist assistant in the history of the Indian Ocean World. Qualifications:
The following skills and qualifications would be advantageous:
BA in History or related field required.
Competence required in at least two of the following research languages: Bengali, Hindi, and Persian.
On-the-ground work experience in the Indian Ocean World (e.g., East Africa, South or Southeast Asia, or the Middle East).
Experience of archival research and excellence in academic writing.
Strong collaborative and communication skills.
