Research Assistant
The School of Nursing is seeking two **_Research Assistant_** for a clinical trial of an mHealth-facilitated physical activity interventions for older adults in Maryland. The Research Assistant will report to the Principal Investigator and work closely with the Program Manager and the study team to facilitate study-related goals. The Research Assistant will be primarily responsible for recruitment, participant visit scheduling, data collection, visiting participants’ homes, and study team interactions. **Specific Duties & Responsibilities** + Under the supervision of the principal investigator and project leads, the Research Assistant’s responsibilities include but are not limited to, + Participate in training for all aspects of position. + Assist with recruitment partner communication and study participant recruitment. + Conduct data collection per study protocol. Collect data including surveys, sleep/environmental monitors, biomarkers and semi-structured interviews. + Input records and data management in systems such as Excel, REDCap, Access, or similar system. + Report irregularities or adverse events to appropriate study personnel. Makes referrals to support resources per study protocol. + Procurement and supply management and tracking. + Attend study-related meetings. + Assist with other research related activities as assigned by PI and the lead research coordinator. **Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities** + Must maintain current certification in all applicable JHU required training classes. + Strong skills in verbal and written communications, technical writing, and note-taking and editing. + Demonstrated knowledge of database applications (e.g., Excel, Access, Refworks) + Adept in effectively communicating through strong oral and writing skills. Experienced in writing and editing professional letters, reports, and documents. + Excel in building relationships and partnerships with community stakeholders, have strong organizational skills with attention to detail and are able to handle multiple priorities work and meet deadlines. + Flexibility, organization and critical thinking skills are essential. + Operates computer to access email, electronic calendars, and other basic office support software. + Utilizes Internet to search for information. + Must demonstrate skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and PowerPoint). **Minimum Qualifications** + Bachelor's Degree in related discipline. + Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula. **Preferred Qualifications** + Related experience in research project coordination, preferably in an academic or research environment. + Training in phlebotomy or personal training (either or both). + Related experience in aging research. + Experience in qualitative research. + Bilingual in Spanish and English. **Classified Title** : Research Assistant Role/Level/Range: ACRO40/E/03/CD **Starting Salary Range** : $17.20 - $30.30 HRLY ($23,441 targeted; Commensurate w/exp.)
