The Research Assistant contributes with research investigators by providing research and experimentation support while following established protocols. Further, the Research Assistant performs a clerical role to ensure the smooth operations of office facilities.
Department Specific Functions
The incumbent in this position will assist with field data collection involving scientific diving and small boat operations. The data to be collected are images of the seabed that will be mosaicked into single large-area image maps. Candidates are required to hold AAUS Scientific Diver Authorization.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent required
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
• Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.• Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.• Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.• Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.• Commitment to the University’s core values.• Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
