RESEARCH ASSISTANT - F.M. KIRBY RESEARCH CENTER
**Overview** The Research Assistant I will primarily work on applying MRI techniques for mapping energymetabolites such as creatine, phosphocreatine and glucose in brain and muscle. The research will beperformed on both human and animals. The Research Assistant I will perform a variety of duties insupport of the goals, objectives, and protocols of research projects within an assigned group at Kirby Center. **Responsibilities** 1. Assist with the implementation of and perform MRI studies on both humans and animals. 2. Conduct telephone screening interviews as needed to determine research participant eligibility forhuman study. 3. Assist Faculty member with processing all MRI images for publication. 4. Obtain informed consent for research studies by contacting eligible participants/parents bytelephone and/or email and meeting. 5. Complete literature searches/reviews upon request. 6. Assist with preparing grant applications, conference submissions, and manuscripts, such as bydeveloping bibliography and reference pages and editing and formatting documents. 7. Assist with the preparation of presentations to internal and external groups. **Qualifications** QUALIFICATIONS: * Individual must demonstrate competence across all age groups due to the diversity of the childrenand families served by the Institute. * Research focus is on the neonate, pediatric, and adolescent populations, as well as some adults withdisabilities. EDUCATION: * BA/BS required. * BA/BS in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, or related field preferred. EXPERIENCE: 1-2 years of experience with either chemistry or biomedical research experience preferred. **Minimum pay range** USD $37,132.78/Yr. **Maximum pay range** USD $60,215.17/Yr. **Vacancy ID** _11466_ **Pos.
