Job Summary

Working independently and under very general supervision provides support to research studies. May be responsible for the following activities: making independent judgments of the suitability of potential participants for clinical trials, developing and implementing patient recruitment strategies, recommending changes to protocols, and overseeing the work of more entry-level staff.


 

Qualifications

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

-    Executes protocols of routine and non-routine experiments
-    Assists Pl with deciding the most suitable methodology
-    Performs basic design and modification of protocols
-    Calculates, transcribes and analyzes data
-    Prepares and presents reports
-    Maintains and orders supplies
-    Perform a variety of routine tests following established methodologies
-    Prepare and support tissue cultures
-    Record data; summarize and analyze results using basic statistics
-    Prepare lab reagents, chemicals, instruments and equipment
-    May prepare radioactive and non-radioactive samples for lipid analysis
-    May perform independent literature searches as directed
-    May assist in the basic design and modification of protocols

QUALIFICATIONS

-    BA or BS (required)
-    One year of applicable work experience.
-    Demonstrated competence in research techniques and methodologies
-    Demonstrated ability to work independently

SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

-    Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
-    Excellent interpersonal skills
-    Ability to prioritize a high volume of work under potentially high pressure to meet deadlines
-    Familiarity with medical terminology
-    Prior experience reviewing medical records
-    Familiarity with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and data management programs
