Posting Number NONAC3411 Job Title Research Assistant II Position Title Research Assistant II Position Type Non-Faculty Number of vacancies 1 Salary Commensurate with experience Department Center for Maternal Health Equity Position Summary The Center for Maternal Health Equity aims to pursue equity in maternal health by reducing maternal morbidity and mortality by building and strengthening community engagement and advocacy. We are seeking a Research Assistant II who will be responsible for updating and maintaining study databases; enter, edit, query, audit, code, reconcile, validate, merge, and statistically analyze collected data. This position will also be responsible for conducting secondary data analysis of existing data sources. The secondary data analysis will require data merging, coding and directed analysis to test research specific aims and hypotheses. The research assistant II will also work members of the Center to implement project plans with additional responsibilities that will include, but not be limited, to, conducting literature searches, assisting in the implementation of project activities, acting as a liaison between the center and partners or funder, and supporting the dissemination of research findings. Minimum Qualifications Education Bachelor’s Degree required. Degree must be from a regionally accredited college or university.


Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience conducting quantitative data and/or qualitative data analysis utilizing software packages such as SPSS, SAS, NVivo, etc. Evidence of excellent data interpretation, oral and written skills.

Job Duties

Description of Job Duty Supports the development of research plans, study design, and statistical analysis plans for research and evaluation studies Performs data entry and fundamental analyses and assisting in interpreting data outputs; selecting the appropriate variable and analysis to test the validity of a hypothesis in collaboration with faculty and resident investigators. Writes and edits material for publication and presentation, including fact sheets, newsletters, and manuscripts, by providing thorough literature review and background, methods and results sections Recruits and/or interviews subjects; Prepare interview questions, and maintain accurate records of interviews, safeguarding the confidentiality of subjects Performs administrative tasks associated with Center initiatives, and perform additional functions related to research activities
