Research Assistant II - Cotts Lab (004005)

The person will analyze time-resolved and static X-ray diffraction data of semiconductor nanocrystals of varying composition and ligand chemistry at various temperatures. They will compare thermal to photoinduced structural changes to better understand nonradiative processes in semiconductor nanocrystals.
This is considered a part-time, hourly, non-benefits eligible position that ends June 30, 2025. The minimum starting rate for the position is $19.26 per hour.
Core Responsibilities:
+ Analyze time-resolved X-ray Diffraction data and prepare Pair Distribution Function analysis
+ Simulate expected Debye-Waller Factor response at various temperatures and laser fluences
+ Characterize Semiconductor nanocrystals with UV-Vis, Tr-PL, and QY spectroscopy

Requirements
+ Basic experience with X-ray Diffraction data analysis
+ Basic experience with Pair Distribution Function analysis
+ Basic experience with optical spectroscopy
+ Academic coursework in undergraduate quantum chemistry, thermodynamics, and Matlab or python programming
+ Most work will be computer work. Some work with take place in Cotts lab (MBH 546).
