SUMMARY
The Computational Precision Oncology Laboratory focuses on developing image-guided computational and mathematical models to improve cancer diagnosis, prognosis and treatment optimization. The primary purpose of the Research Assistant I position is to support conduction of the project "Identify imaging biomarkers associated with interval breast cancer in women with a personal history of breast cancer".
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Clinical Data Curation.
Carry out patient cohort identification, retrospective clinical data curation.
Research Studies
Image processing and data analysis. With the assistance of faculty, support the development of algorithms for statistical feature correlations and machine-learning models.
Administrative
Coordinate with clinical collaborators. Reviews and correlates research data.
Read scientific articles to familiarize oneself with basic preclinical imaging practices and more specific photoacoustic imaging techniques/theory.
Assists in preparation of draft manuscripts, and grant reports.
Maintain a basic knowledge of the operation of laboratory equipment and keep current records of experimental procedures for future publications.

REQUIREMENTS
Education Required: Bachelor's degree with major course works in one of the basic sciences.
Preferred Education: Master's degree with major course works in data science, statistics, applied mathematics, computer sciences, natural sciences, engineering, or related fields.
Certification Required: None
Preferred Certification: None
Experience Required: One year experience in scientific or experimental research work. No experience required with preferred degree.
Preferred Experience: Experience with clinical EHR (EPIC) data curation, database assembling, and communication with clinicians is preferred.
