Position Summary
Positions in this job family provide direction and support for scientific and research activities. Responsibilities of jobs in this family include supporting or conducting scientific research and the collection, analysis, and reporting of data. Typical functions include grants administration, theoretical and applied research, human subject compliance, laboratory support services, animal care, etc.
DUTIES
Independently performs a wide range of highly technical and complex research and laboratory tests and procedures.
Devises highly specialized research procedures by applying a knowledge of advanced research techniques and equipment.
Provides input and recommends alternative approaches to research protocol.
Analyzes and interprets the results of studies.
Prepares Institutional Review Board applications and submits it to the board for review and approval.
Trains research staff in specialized procedures and theoretical concepts for unique tests.
May assist in grant and other funding application preparation.
Reviews literature for related research developments and techniques.
Prepares written materials, charts and graphs on specialized techniques and research results for publication or presentation.
Monitors the handling, storage and disposal of hazardous substances.
Some researchers may be required to use computer programming skills, such as writing code and designing software for research.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s degree preferred. Degree must be from a regionally accredited college or university.
Experience: 2-4 years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
+ Masters degree from an accredited college or university in Data Science, Public Health or Related field.
Experience:
+ Extensive experience working on research program development including strong understanding of clinical research regulations and compliance standards.
+ Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) necessary to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
+ Ability to establish strong working relationships with all division teams and management

Immunization Requirements
It is MSM’s Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are required to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID -19 prior to commencement of employment. If employment will commence during Flu Season, MSM requires all individuals to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless granted an exemption. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain an exemption from MSM will result in rescission of a candidate’s offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
