Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Principal Investigator and within established policies and procedures the successful candidate will be an experienced student in Computer Science who will help digitize a behavioral sleep intervention Sleep Wizard for foster parents to support sleep among preschool aged children in their care. Create prototypes of mobile-first website that will function similarly to an app including design assistance. Review and follow data privacy and security guidelines for mobile health applications and their use in research.
Responsibilities:
Create mobile-first website prototypes for Sleep Wizard and assist with design. This will include:
Determining the essential features and functionality required for the mobile-first website.
Creating initial sketches or wireframes to visualize the mobile-first website�s structure and layout.
Developing detailed designs of each screen using design tool software.
Building interactive prototypes to demonstrate functionality and user flow.
Iterating the prototype based on feedback from the study team and research participants to revise content and improve usability and functionality.
Participating in regular meetings with the Principal Investigator and collaborators for feedback and to monitor progress.
Performing other duties as assigned.
Other information:
BASIC KNOWLEDGE:
Undergraduate student in Computer Science and completion of coursework related to mobile website and application development.
Ability to independently create mobile-first web application prototypes.
Requires a working knowledge of general data security and privacy considerations in app development.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience creating mobile-first web application prototypes for a project including class projects (Please provide link(s) to example mobile websites you have created in your resume).
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Works in an office environment and virtually with flexibility in schedule.
INDEPENDENT ACTION:
Performs independently with the department�s policies and practices. Refers specific complex problems to the supervisor when clarification of the departmental policies and procedures is required.
