Job Summary
Several Research Assistants (RA) are sought to support a research study on carceral conditions and culture.
This position works on an as-needed basis.
Essential Functions
Assisting in management of study records, both paper and electronic. Participating in survey administration, including inside of a custodial environment. Data coding and management. Adhering to codes of the conduct for research, university activities and correctional institutions.Required Qualifications
Minimum of Bachelors Degree in Criminology/Criminal Justice or a related discipline. Ability to travel regionally as assigned. Ability to complete training for Human Subjects Research in the social sciences.Preferred Qualifications
Experience with primary data collection, particularly with justice-involved populations and with conducting confidential semi-structured interviews. Training or direct experience with qualitative and/or quantitative data collection Ability to conduct engaged research with justice-involved populations, members of vulnerable populations, and agency leadership. Highly organized and attentive to detail.Location

This is a Part time Per Diem position classified as non-exempt. The pay offered is based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
