Research Assistant Professor
University of Rochester: Office of the Provost: University of Rochester Medical Center: School of Medicine and Dentistry: Microbiology and Immunology **Salary Range or Pay Grade** 15.50 - 23.25 **Description** Seeking a Research Assistant Professor, to use molecular, genetic, and biochemical approaches to develop an independent research program focusing on small molecule inhibitors of essential bacterial processes. More directly, this will include the development of chemical probes that affect bacterial penicillin binding proteins (PBPs) and the design of biochemical assays to understand the molecular mechanisms of those probes and their utility as standalone or antibiotic adjuvants. Responsibilities will also include developing whole cell bacterial systems to study PBP activities and quantify PBP inhibition by probes as well as animal models to assess PBP probe efficacy.
