Research Assistant Professor of Neurology

The Department of Neurology is seeking a Research Assistant Professor with a background in Neuroscience for recruitment into the GAIT lab as it relates to Movement Disorders and Neurodegeneration research. Candidates should have an interest in multi-muscle synergies related to gait impacts within Parkinson's Disease. Theoretical and practical experience in Motor Control, Biomechanics, Imaging and Neurotoxicology is highly preferred. The role requires extensive experience in collecting motor task data using state-of-the-art equipment to measure motor performance. Additionally, it requires advanced skills in analyzing data from various sources, including neurobehavioral assessments, complex imaging techniques such as MRI to explore structural and functional brain changes, and metrics related to environmental exposures. Proficiency in specialized software for data analysis and visualization, coupled with a deep understanding of motor control theory and its applications, is essential for this role. Must have general expertise in neurodegenerative diseases. Preference will be given to applicants with direct experience recruiting and interacting with human research subjects, supervising graduate students and submitting grant applications.
