Position Objectives
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Associate with extensive experience in Immunohistochemistry (IHC) scoring and Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization (FISH) scoring across multiple cancer indications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cytotechnology/histology and a keen eye for detail. The Research Associate will plan and execute experiments to develop IHC, FISH, and other assays in Companion Diagnostics. They will work closely with cross-functional project teams, manufacturing, and external partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Performs IHC and FISH scoring on tissue samples from various cancer types.
Determines and develops approaches to assignments
Leads development of Companion Diagnostic projects requiring collaboration with team members, other functions, suppliers, and external partners (example, as a Design Responsible for multiple projects).
Works closely with external partners to achieve project goals. Regularly present project results both internally and externally. Responsible for efficient communication between all stakeholders including external partners and organizations.
Makes detailed observations, analyzes data, and interprets results.
Investigates, creates, and develops new methods and technologies for project advancement.
Facilitates the transfer of completed development projects into commercial products.
Ensures projects comply with the Quality System and Design Control regulations.
Oversees others to lead studies.
Maintains high level of professional expertise through familiarity with scientific literature.
Solves a broad range of problems varying in scope and complexity
Independent work under minimal guidance is expected
This hybrid position and the candidate will work a minimum of 60% onsite work at the Carpinteria, CA site.
QualificationsUniversity Degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent is required. Advanced degree a plus.
Extensive experience in IHC and FISH scoring, particularly in cancer research.
Experience with digital pathology and image analysis software.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and with external partners.
Ability to work independently and solve complex problems under minimal supervision.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Added bonus if you have:
Prior experience as a Cytotechnologist or IHC and fluorescent microscopy/histology experience

This job has a full time weekly schedule. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
