360 Labs Initiative at a Glance

The 360 Labs are a new capability that is currently being built up within the Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development organization (pRED). The primary mission of this effort is to provide greater access and support for the use of cutting-edge biomedical research technologies by scientists across our discovery portfolio.

The 360 Labs will deliver core scientific technologies, expertise and enabling activities, as well as facilitate knowledge sharing in close collaboration with our therapeutic areas and functions. The Opportunity

The Proteomics & Metabolomics Technology Platform in the 360 Labs Initiative is seeking an experienced, highly motivated, collaborative, and customer-centric lab-based professional with a focus on supporting investigative biomarker discovery efforts. The successful candidate will have a robust background in the life sciences and proficiency in implementing scalable targeted, high-plex, and untargeted protein assays. You will work with a sense of urgency as a part of a matrix team, interacting with colleagues within the Proteomics & Metabolomics Technology Platform to implement and execute experimental paradigms to advance biomarker identification and validation efforts. You will also participate in the continued evolution of the Proteomics & Metabolomics Technology Platform within the pRED organization.

Your Role and Responsibilities

You will implement and execute both targeted (mid- and high-plex) and untargeted protein assays to enable investigative biomarker discovery studies in liquid biopsies, in vitro model systems and tissues;

You will support multiple collaborations across therapeutic disease areas by generating, and analyzing biomarker discovery and validation experiments, contribute to the delivery of project reports, and engage with stakeholders to present and discuss findings in a dynamic and flexible manner;

You will work collaboratively with your colleagues to contribute to general laboratory operations within the Proteomics & Metabolomics Technology Platform; including instrument maintenance, experimental troubleshooting, as well as the evaluation of new technologies;

You embrace a continuous learning mindset by actively engaging with the scientific literature to stay abreast of emergent technologies/approaches in the biomarker discovery field.

Who you are

You have a BS or MS degree in biochemistry, chemistry or a related field, with experience in the discovery and/or validation of biomarkers, preferably within either the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry;

You have proven hands-on expertise in the implementation and execution of various biochemical sample preparation workflows. You also demonstrate high competency in the operation of LC-MS systems and are familiar with targeted and untargeted workflows. Familiarity with non-MS based technologies (e.g. NULISA, Olink) will be considered a plus;

You are familiar with the processing, analysis and interpretation of MS- and ideally also non-MS-based datastreams.
