What is the Opportunity?

Research Associate, Chemicals & Packaging

What will you do? 

Assist in the development and detailed modeling of company specific financial modelsCoordinate, generate and maintain research reports, presentations and databasesProvide research support to analyst as requiredIncumbent is in the process of developing core Research Associate skillsDevelop an expertise in the Chemicals & Packaging sectorSupport and answer client queries as they relate to the sectorProactively identify operational risks/ control deficiencies in the businessReview and comply with Firm Policies applicable to your business activitiesEscalate operational risk loss events, control deficiencies and risks that you identify to your line manager and the relevant risk and control functions promptly

What do you need to succeed?

  Basic Qualifications

Undergraduate degree or similar qualification with a focus on Business, Mathematics or other quantitative fieldsLicensing Requirements – Series 7, 63, 86 & 87, SIE

Other Required Qualifications:

Previous exposure to capital markets or 1-2 years of experience within the Chemicals & Packaging sector a definite asset but not specifically necessaryExcellent writing and communications skillsStrong PC skills specifically in Microsoft Office applications and sourcing data from the internet and various technology publicationsSuperior customer service focus and attitude for internal and external clientsAbility to perform under pressure and meet time sensitive deadlines,  sometimes for extended periods of timeCommitment to task and an attention to detailAbility to prioritize work and multi-task responsibilitiesSelf starter - must be organized and able to work independentlyGood personal skills and the ability to work and coordinate effectively within a team environment

Regular interaction with clientsSupporting Senior Analyst

KEY RELATIONSHIPS

Internal Clients including sales and tradingExternal clients as required

WORKING CONDITIONS

The work environment is based on a office/trading floor, thus little physical effort is requiredThe office environment can be a high stress environment that requires quick turnaround and decision making

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $100,000 - $160,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs.  This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
