We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate with diverse laboratory skills to join our team. This candidate would ideally have experience in immunology or related disciplines such as biology or biomedical engineering. This is a lab-based position, and the role will be based in Waltham, Massachusetts within AstraZeneca’s state-of-the-art laboratories where you will follow the science to help drive innovation and advance medicines to help improve patients’ lives. AccountabilitiesWe are looking for a great teammate who is self-motivated and passionate about innovative scientific research leading to the discovery and development of novel therapeutics. Expertise in primary cell culture and assay development is essential. Experience in flow cytometry, multiplex cytokine read-outs, qPCR and in vitro/ex vivo culture of immune cells is strongly preferred.
You will contribute to developing novel cell therapies for immunological diseases by supporting target identification, target validation, and drug development. You will develop novel new assays for in vitro characterization of cell therapy candidates.

Essential Skills/ExperienceBS degree in biology, immunology or a relevant discipline with 1+ years of industry experience.Expertise in aseptic cell culture technique.Hands-on skills with basic immunological assays (e.g. multi-color flow cytometry, primary cell culture, functional cell-based assays, ELISA, Western blot, MSD, Luminex).Experience with in vitro 3D models and/or primary human tissues is a huge plus.Experience with molecular biology is a plus (e.g. cloning, lentiviral or retroviral transduction, stable cell line generation, gene editing, qPCR, nanostring).The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team is essential.Ability to critically analyze datasets.The ideal candidate is highly organized and self-motivated, with a drive to learn.Desirable Skills/ExperienceMS degree in biology, immunology or a relevant discipline with 1+ years of industry experience.At AstraZeneca, we push the boundaries of science to change the practice of medicine and transform the lives of patients living with cancer.
