Job Description
**Position Summary:**
This position is responsible for the growth of E. coli in a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) Lab, following GMP guidelines. This includes, but is not limited to GMP, AF (Animal Free Process), and other products used by pharma and IVD customers. This position manufactures E. coli clones using shake flask, or Bioreactors using a variety of techniques, software and equipment including, Bioreactors, Shake Flasks, Biosafety cabinets, Fume Hoods, Sterile Filters, Autoclaves, and centrifuges. All procedures and batch records follow GMP guidelines.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Growth of E. coliproteins.
+ Media production for E. coli.
+ Cleans, validates equipment and procedures, and ensures the lab is ready for internal and external audits.
+ Revises specifications, SOP’s and documents as needed, and submits to manager for review.
+ Ensures chemicals, media, and equipment calibrations are up to date. Submits orders to restock chemicals, raw materials, and consumables when needed.
+ Knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
+ Skill in establishing effective interpersonal relationships such as the ability to solicit key ideas and information.
+ Skills in planning, organizational, time management and multi-tasking.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills including technical writing skills.
+ Knowledge of safety and company rules and policies.
+ Ability to handle sensitive and proprietary information with discretion and confidentiality.
+ Follows company policies and practices as outlined in Handbook and follow guidelines regarding safety as outline in the AWAIR, Chemical Hygiene and Exposure Control manuals in accordance with the job.
+ Requires continuous supervision and monitoring.
+ Perform additional duties as assigned.
**Requirements: **
+ This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, microbiology, biotechnology, or equivalent with a minimum of 0 to 2 years of experience. Bioreactor experience is beneficial.
