This position is anchored into the Nucleic Acid-based Medicines (NABM). The position holder will be member of the Viral Technology group.
The Viral Technology group areas of focus encompass rAAV manufacturing, AAV vector & capsid engineering, and plasmid engineering, with the final goal to improve the therapeutic potential of AAV-based gene therapies.
Role Mission
We are offering an outstanding opportunity for a Research associate to work within a multidisciplinary team dedicated to engineering and producing new rAAV to supply internal research groups and overall improve rAAV product quality. You will participate in, but not be limited to, molecular cloning and research grade plasmids production to support research grade rAAV vectors production.
Your Impact
Execute plasmid preparation following manual Midi, Maxi, Gig prep processes
Perform plasmid characterization through either automated platform or manual protocol
Perform molecular cloning and AAV vector cloning
Assist in the development and optimization of high throughput plasmid production
Maintain raw material supplies and reagents for plasmid preparation
Assist and implement workflow for end to end DNA to rAAV supply
Participate in laboratory management: lab organization, ordering, equipment, maintenance and qualification, etc…
Thoroughly document performed experiments in our electronic laboratory documentation system and present findings in internal as well as external meetings and events.
Your Profile
You are an enthusiastic scientist with a background in biotechnology, biology,
bioengineering, biochemistry or a relevant life science field. You bring interest and hands-on experience in plasmid, molecular cloning strategies, purification & characterization, AAV proteins design, shRNA via AAV, mi-RNA/AAV, NGS library preparation for AAV variant screening.
You thrive in a dynamic, inclusive environment which gives you full accountability for your own contributions and development. You have a keen interest in continuously building a personal network. You are resourceful and flexible in problem solving and in working in a collaborative and inclusive manner. You have a sense for ensuring that everyone has the required information at all times. You have strong oral and written communication skills and are proficient in working with cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams.
