The University of Miami/UHealth Department of SCCC has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Research Associate 2 to work at the UHealth Medical Campus.
The Research Associate 2 supports research activities for the assigned division by conducting laboratory experiments on assigned research projects. Moreover, the incumbent operates with the goal of advancing his/her expertise through continued education, training, and research.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

Maintains an overview of relevant research findings.
Ensures all research is undertaken according to good research practice.
Keeps abreast of current publications relative to methods, techniques, and developments within the area of research.
Collects, prepares, analyzes, dissects, and evaluates specimens or tissue cultures.
Operates and maintains laboratory equipment.
Performs a variety of routine assays, tests, and studies.
Performs calculations to complete research test results, collects data, and performs statistical analysis of laboratory results.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
Department Specific Functions
This position is part of the Behavioral Community Based Research Shared Resource (BCSR). The Research Associate 2 will provide professional level support and coordination for research and administrative related activities. The incumbent will implement day-to-day tasks related to research protocols and office support to facilitate the efficient operations of BCSR.
Establishes patient/participant screening procedures with Principal Investigator and collects data from patient charts, medical records, interviews, questionnaires, diagnostic tests and other sources.Organizes and handles the flow of information to and from study participants, including study participant contact information.Establishes/maintains contact with patient/participants, health care providers, community agencies and study sponsors.Recruits, consents, and enrolls research participants. Maintains consent forms and all other study documentations and correspondences.Maintain reporting needs as established by the IRB, HIPAA, HSRO, DSMC, and funding/sponsored agencies as needed including continuing reports, amendments, reportable events, and deviations.Perform electronic medical chart reviews upon participation enrollment and completion using EPIC/CERNER and update VELOS with participants status.Perform screening interviews, conduct and/or coordinate focus groups and behavioral interventions, and administer survey instruments related to specific research projects.Schedules appointments and updates calendars.Maintains logs/progress reports to track enrolled participants.Maintains and manages databases; enters data appropriately. Ensures data integrity and consistency in computer database and written records. Maintains consent forms, all other documentations and sponsor correspondences.Prepares monthly enrollment reports.Plans meetings and takes detailed minutes, as needed.Responsible for ordering and maintaining stock of necessary supplies for projects and office.Assists in any administrative related activities including time accounting and billing in a timely and accurate manner.Able to accommodate a changing work schedule and travel to different locations in the Tri-County area.Performs other duties as assigned.Excellent English skills (both oral and written) required. Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field required
