Job Description THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE OFFERED A SALARY BETWEEN $72,190 - $79,410. The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages community-based supports and foster care services and provides subsidized childcare vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice, ACS oversees detention, placement, and programs for youth in the community. The Office of Training and Workforce Development with the Division of Policy, Planning, and Measurement at ACS provides foundational and continuous learning opportunities for child welfare and juvenile justice direct service staff and supervisors. Reporting to the Deputy Director of CQI/Research and Design, the Research Associate I will assist in the evaluation and assessment of ACS frontline staff training programs and support the development and implementation of plans to enhance the agency’s learning structures and ongoing professional development initiatives. The Research Scientist I will contribute to integrating best practices within ACS’s Department of Child Protection and Division of Youth and Family Justice. The role also includes supporting the Deputy Director, Workforce Institute Leadership, CUNYSPS, consultants, and provider agencies to ensure effective communication, timely delivery of projects, and overall project success. Responsibilities of this position include: - Coordinate with Workforce Institute partners to assist in planning and gaining support for departmental activities, from work plan development to complete implementation of deliverables. - Conduct quantitative and qualitative data analysis to inform ongoing evaluations of ACSWI learning programs. - Create and manage dashboards in Qualtrics and Tableau to monitor program performance and support continuous quality improvement. - Draft reports and briefs that detail the results of data analyses and recommend steps to enhance learning programs. - Present evaluation outcomes to a broad range of stakeholders, including training facilitators, project managers, and ACSWI leadership. - Support the Deputy Director of CQI/Research & Design in overseeing the quality assurance and evaluation plans for Foster Care and Preventive Provider Agencies. - Attend meetings and learning events as necessary to support department needs and timely achievement of deliverables. Qualifications 1. For Assignment Level I (only physical, biological and environmental sciences and public health) A master's degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological or environmental science or in public health. To be appointed to Assignment Level II and above, candidates must have: 1. A doctorate degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological, environmental or social science and one year of full-time experience in a responsible supervisory, administrative or research capacity in the appropriate field of specialization; or 2. A master's degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological, environmental or social science and three years of responsible full-time research experience in the appropriate field of specialization; or 3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least a master's degree in an appropriate field of specialization and at least two years of experience described in "2" above. Two years as a City Research Scientist Level I can be substituted for the experience required in "1" and "2" above. NOTE: Probationary Period Appointments to this position are subject to a minimum probationary period of one year.
